Part 5 : This is the weather forecast for the english channel by Langdon Bay Station :

Calais - Dover : Brise will come from North - North - West and speed will be about 16 knots
Dover - Calais : Brise will come again from North - North - West, speed will be about 22 knots, so we are expecting a sound crossing through the channel - could be a bit rainy though. For those who suffer from seasickness, there will be a reception held at the bar on the ferry, Doctor Karsten (better known as "der Hesse") is - as usual - in charge there.

Forgot something : Mind that there will be NO SERVICE STATIONS open in Belgium and France from midnight on, so we will have only short breaks for a piss and a fag
and obviously, the bus topilet is ladies only - sorry for that gents - because, the percentage of women on board is over 10 %

Part 7 : AT AND AROUND GROUND !

the Drum and Monkeys bar is situated very close to Portman Road, so, within a minute we are at turnstiles. Our Tickets are valid for North Stand, where we are along with the Blue army - that means we have no admission to COBBOLD Stand - just in case, someone forgot - anyway, we havent been at the cobbold in ages. As the Suffolk Police is generally friendly and open minded, please pay back with best of behaviour. ITFC safety stewards are friendly as well but will be strict, if you do not follow instructions, please do not take photos from match action and sit down, if you are asked to do so. Alcohol is available at ground there is a bar behind North Stand but mind - there is no alcohol accepted inside Portman Road Stadium. There is a big ITFC Store at ground, right beside the North Stand - we sit at lower north stand. North and the opposite South stand are double tiers and modern stands and the Cobbold Stand to our right and the Brittania Stand to our left are older Stands. Price for a pint of lager or bitter or cider is about 3.40 UK Sterling and bars are open before match and at half time. As our club colours in red and white where always welcome at Portman Road, again show best of behaviour as we are currently the only international Fortuna Düsseldorf outfit.

Part one : It is a big honour for me, to captain the group once again on our way to Portman Road, along with my tour-lieutenants Friedie and Christoph, who by the way captained the group in 2009 to the mnatch when ITFC was entertaining Sheffield Wednesday. We will be assisted this time by Mauri, who is the safety officer on bord, Holger who will be in charge of the camcoder, we are entitled to bring into the ground this time, then comes Jo-Marcus who is Fortunas officer for the handycaped and he will be in charge for a special collection on bord, to give away to the dying children of the Regenbogenland Institute here in Düsseldorf and our team will be completed by Nadine, who was supposed to drive the bus - honestly - as she has a long experience in driving Fortuna Fans all over germany - Nadine will take photos during the trip an all the other action to provide here on facebook all around the clock

Part 2 : Our coach is hired again from Pannenbecker Travel, Düsseldorf, the official transport coy. who is in charge with all duties concerning Fortuna Düsseldorf and theis first team, as well, as our Reserves. Captain of the coach will be Michael Blass from Düsseldorf this time, who has a long experience in transporting Fortuna Fans over the last few years. I spoke to Michael on the phone already and he is a good guy, so please follow his instructions and put in some money for him, what we will collect during our trip back to Dusseldorf. Our bus is a doubledecker, 69 seater what does not mean, that there will be a 69 service during the trip - anyway and please keep in mind, that there is no drinking of shorts on te bus accepted and - of course, smoking is disallowed as well. The bus is equipped with comfortable sleaping seats, air condition, kitchen, microwave, we will show movies on bord and we do have a full internet reception to keep contact to all our loved ones and friends from both clubs

Part 3 : Once again - our team is very proud, to announce once again, that our doubledecker coach is sold out with 69 people, making all the way with us to PORTMAN ROAD, so there is no more seats available for this journey, for all other interested fans, do not be disappointed and contact us again, when we are announcing our next fixture.
Departures will be this time - as always from 2000 hrs, from the IRISH PUB in Hilden, Mittelstrasse 6 (Gabelung) and from 2230 hrs at Düsseldorf Hbf (Fernbusbahnhof, alte Paketpost) - please keep in mind, that we will not stop this time at the Roemerwirt Bar, lads will join us at the Irish bar. Michael himself will not make it this time, because a good friend of him has died recently due to cancer and Michael will of course attend the funeral, wich will be held on saturday, wich tragically is the dead fellows birthday, sorry for your loss Michael and RIP to your friend

Part 4 : we will be travelling via Eindhoven, Antwerp, then towards Oostende and will turn shortly before the coast comes then to Calais. We have a reservation on the ferryboat and we are sailing at 05:30 hrs. Arrival will be at 06:30 local time and please keep in mind, that all english time annoncements will be held in greenwich meantime, what means, that we have an hour in hand. From Dover, we will travell via Maidstone, Chelmsford, Colchester and we will aproaching Ipswich then at approximately half past ten in the morning.
Our Shipping Company will either be Seafrance or P & O Ferries - i have to figure out today.

Part 6 : As ITFC has delivered the tickets for admission to ground already, we will hand them out shortly, before we are approaching IPSWICH - right after starting in Dusseldorf, we have to sign the passenger list for the shipping coy. so - please do not forget, to bring a valid passport - and please - please - do not sing to loud and bold at the custom offices in Calais and please - no giving out towards the french - we will have a game of Football during our waiting time at Calais docks.
Note that currency in UK is still sterling, so today would be a good idea, to exchange some money at your local bank. There is an exchange office on the ferryboat as well wich opens usually right after sailing start. Otherwise, € will be accepted on the ferry and as far as i know, you can pay via credit card at the ITFC souvenir store, visa-card should be accepted anyway.
There is no credit at the Drum and Monkeys Bar and for those who are not familiar with Rob and Clare - you order drinks right at the bar and pay straight away. For the singles among us, there is always a bunch of good looking barmaids behind the counter, so show your best of behaviour, when galavanting or flirting there

Die Lage in der Liga: Ipswich Town FC

ITFC veranstaltet in dieser Saison eine Achterbahnfahrt in der Tabelle, wie es sie wohl nur sehr selten gibt. Am ersten Spieltag durch einen 3:0-Auswärtssieg bei Bristol City Tabellenführer, fanden sich die Blues drei Spieltage später weiterhin mit lediglich drei Punkten auf Platz 20 wieder. Ein Heimsieg gegen Leeds United und eine weitere Niederlage in Blackpool folgten, so dass nach 6. Spieltagen Tabellenplatz 18 belegt wurde. Sechs Spieltage später und 14 Punkte mehr auf der Habenseite, rangierte Ipswich Town plötzlich auf dem 6. Platz und die Fans machten sich schon große Hoffnungen auf eine Rückkehr in die 1. Liga. Doch es folgte eine weitere, bittere Serie mit 7 Niederlagen hintereinander! In der Tabelle bedeutete dies nur noch den 21. Platz (von 24!). Zwei Siege und ein Unentschieden ließen wieder etwas Hoffnung aufkommen (22. Spieltag: Platz 19). Die letzten drei Begegnungen wurden aber wiederum verloren, zuletzt in einem Nachholspiel am Mittwoch in Birmingham recht unglücklich durch einen Treffer in der 90. Minute. Nach den gespielten 25 Spieltagen (von 46) rangiert Ipswich Town FC nun auf Platz 20, drei Punkte Vorsprung auf den ersten Abstiegsplatz.

Aus den bisher erzielten Ergebnissen von Ipswich Town FC eine positive Prognose zu erstellen für den Ausgang der Partie gegen Blackpool FC ist äußerst schwierig. Betrachtet man nur die Heimspiele an der Portman Road, die samstags nachmittags ausgetragen wurden, so müsste die Partie eigentlich 1:1 enden. Zieht man aber die Auswärtsschwäche von Blackpool gerade an Samstagen hinzu, kann es durchaus dringend benötigten Heimsieg von Ipswich werden. Wir werden live dabei sein und bei sonnigem Wetter die Traktor Boys in der gewohnten Art lautstark unterstützen.

Vorstellung des Gegners: Der Blackpool FC

Nach dem einjährigen Gastspiel in der Premier League in der Saison 2010/2011 musste der Blackpool FC als Tabellenvorletzter mit 39 Punkten wieder absteigen. Zum rettenden Ufer fehlten am Ende ein Punkt und drei Tore. Im letzten Spiel trat man in Old Trafford vor 75.400 Zuschauern gegen den bereits als Meister feststehenden Club vom Manchester United an. Nach einer Stunde führte Blackpool mit 1:2, was am Ende den Klassenerhalt bedeutet hätte. Aber Manu drehte das Spiel und gewann noch mit 4:2.

Die Jungs von der Küste (The Seasiders) – wie Mannschaft und Fans des Blackpool FC auch genannt werden – kommen aus der im Nordwesten Englands gelegenen Küstenstadt Blackpool an der Irischen See. Heimspielstätte ist das Stadion an der Bloomfield Road im Zentrum von Blackpool. Die Mannschaft wird auch gerne als „The Tangerines“ (Mandarinen) bezeichnet, was von der orangefarbenen Heimspielbekleidung herrührt.

Der größte Erfolg des Vereins war der Gewinn des FA Cups im Jahr 1953 (im sogenannten „Matthews-Finale“), als die Bolton Wanderers noch mit 4:3 besiegt werden konnten, nachdem die Mannschaft kurz vor Ende des Spiels noch mit 1:3 zurückgelegen hatte. Drei Jahre später wurde der FC Blackpool, der in der unmittelbaren Nachkriegszeit mehrfach um den englischen Titel spielte, englischer Vizemeister und absolvierte in sechs Jahren drei Spiele im Wembley-Stadion.

Anfang der 70er Jahre begann der Niedergang des Vereins. Von 1981 bis 1985 und noch mal von 1990 bis 1992 spielte man sogar viertklassig.

Neben den sportlichen Problemen auf dem Spielfeld, hatte der Klub auch abseits davon mit dem zunehmenden Hooliganismus im Umfeld des Klubs zu kämpfen - die Bande mit dem Namen „Bennys Mob“ trieb dabei zumeist ihr Unwesen.

Am Ende der Spielzeit 90/91 belegten die „Seasiders“ in der Meisterschaft (Fourth Division) den fünften Platz, der zur Teilnahme an den Play-off-Spielen berechtigte. Nachdem dort im Halbfinale Scunthorpe United ausgeschaltet werden konnte, traf man am 31. Mai 1991 im Wembley-Stadion auf Torquay United. In einer spannenden Entscheidung unterlag der FC Blackpool nach Elfmeterschießen mit 4:5. Knapp ein Jahr später stand das Team am 23. Mai 1992 an gleicher Stelle erneut im Play-off-Finale und erneut musste ein Elfmeterschießen für die Entscheidung sorgen, die aber nun mit 4:3 zugunsten des FC Blackpool gegen Scunthorpe United ausfiel. Play-off-Spiele und Endspiel in Wembley – und am Ende steht der Aufstieg in die 3. Liga! Die Engländer haben schon komische Regelungen. Um dem aber noch einen drauf zu setzen: Blackpool schaffte mit dem Sieg gegen Scunthorpe United sogar den Sprung von der Fourth Division in die Secound Division! Denn nach der Gründung der Premier League als neue oberste englische Spielklasse war der FC Blackpool im August 1992 damit eines der Gründungsmitglieder der nun „Second Division“ genannten dritthöchsten Spielklasse.

Seit 2004 spielt der Club wieder in der 2. Liga (Football League One, die ab 2007 Football League Championship genannt wird). In der Saison 2009/2010, belegte Blackpool den Platz 6 in der Football League Championship. Damit erreichten sie das Playoff-Halbfinale. Nach Siegen (2:1, 4:3) gegen Nottingham Forest erreichte Blackpool überraschend sogar das Playoff-Finale um den letzten Aufstiegsplatz in die Premier League. Am 22. Mai fand das Play-Off-Endspiel zwischen dem FC Blackpool und Cardiff City statt, das sich gegen Leicester City durchgesetzt hatte. Nach zweimaligem Rückstand konnte der FC Blackpool das Spiel mit 3:2 gewinnen und stieg somit erstmals in die Premier League auf – als Sechster der 2. Liga! Was daraus geworden ist, kann man im ersten Absatz nachlesen.

Es ist ausdrücklich den Fans von Fortuna Düsseldorf gestattet, in deren Klubfarben zu reisen. Andere Embleme werden ausdrücklich nicht toleriert - traditionelle Ausnahme sind unsere bekannten Kumpels vom FC St. PAULI HAMBURG und natürlich unsere englischen Freunde, die selbstverständlich in deren Farben mireisen können.

James, what brought you into Football and what brought you to Ipswich Town FC? 

My mother was a big Tottenham fan in the 60's, back when they were successful and when it was unusual for a young woman to go to football matches, but my brothers and sister and myself never went to any games as children as where we lived there wasn't a local team to support, but I was a 'Spurs' fan growing up watching them on Match Of The Day. 

In 1997 a friend asked if I wanted to work at Wembley Stadium as a steward, so my first live football match was England v Italy, I worked there for a year and saw the FA Cup Final and lots of other England games, but I gave it up when I moved to Ipswich.  It was a 1 year after moving before I was taken to my first Ipswich game, Ipswich Town v Luton Town, on a cold Tuesday night in the rain.... I loved it. 

I liked Tottenham, I enjoyed working at Wembley, but Ipswich was real football and I was hooked.  

Are you married or live in a relationship and how does your partner accept you, spending a lot of time @ football grounds? 

I'm married nearly 8 years, I fell in love with my wife and football at the same time, so she doesn't mind my football.  I work for Ipswich Town in the ticket office, so home matches are my job as well as my hobby, I don't smoke cigarettes, drink too much alchohol or go out, so my wife is happy that I go to away matches instead, I am currently trying to visit all 92 league grounds (73 so far) and that takes up a lot of my time, and as my wife works on a weekend, she doesn't seem to miss me too much! 

Is the Transfer of Connor Wickham to Sunderland really breaking tractor Boys hearts? 

Ipswich fans are VERY proud of the number of young players we have produced over the years, and any young player coming into the first team is given lots of support.  Connor is a special player and it is difficult watching him go, just to have him one more year would have been fantastic, but we have to be realistic and money seems to be the ost important thing in football today. 

I believe we have a good deal though, £8.1m for an 18 year old who has only just started playing regularly is a lot of money, IF he goes on to be the star we think he will be, then Ipswich will receive up to £4m more, also if he is sold on for more money we will receive some of that too.  IF he fails to fulfil his potential, then we have got £8m still. 

Even tough, we all know each other since a good while now, we have not managed a friendly pre season so far should we start planning something like this for the season 2012 - 2013 or probably wait just for the short ime until we will meet in the european competitions, a competition where in all fairness our clubs have every right to take part sooner or later  

We would love to have a pre season friendly game, especially in your stadium in Dusseldorf... the Eurovision Song Contest looked great ;-)  Seriously though, it is something we would love to organise between the two clubs, hopefully for the 2012-13 pre season. 

And finally, where do you see both of our teams finishing up this season -as both clubs seem to be very ambitious, doing better than last year? 

Our two clubs share a similar history, especially over the last few years where struggle on the pitch and money problems off it have meant some poor years, but both club seem to be heading in the right direction again. 

After finishing 4th and 7th I think Fortuna can get back into the Bundesliga this year, though there are a couple of strong teams in there this year. 

Ipswich have a difficult division to compete in as ever, but now we are all looking forward to the future again and the general feeling is we will have the best season for quite some time, there is a positive feeling about Portman Road and we've made some good signings so far, with more to come! 

Hopefully next May both teams will be celebrating
